Swap name: Yarn swap for rapunzel scarf
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: knitwit
 Sign-up date range: 2/12/07 2/26/07
Date to send item by: March 12th, 2007

Limited to a certain number of people? (optional): no

Restricted to people who all live in the same country? NO

All ages allowed? Or 18+? All ages!

Swap Organizer himself/herself meets these conditions:
 - Has fully read the Swap Info Guide: YES
 - Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES
 - Is not organizing more than three swaps right now: YES
 - Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants: YES

Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:
 - Has been a member for at least one month: YES
 - Has posted at least 15 times: YES
 - Has completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time: YES
 - Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps: YES
 - Does not have any negative feedback: YES

 Details of swap:

The idea is to swap different bits of yarn (and ribbon and strips of fabric) out of your stash around to multiple people, and in the end we all have enough to make Rapunzel scarves.

Here is a link to the famous Rapunzel Scarf:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=72581.0

The basic scarf is made from 30 pieces of ten foot yarn. (ribbons, strips of fabric, etc.) To participate in this swap, you will need to send 6 different pieces of ten-foot lengths of yarn (etc) to five partners. (Total = 30 pieces) Depending on the number of people who sign up, this number may need to be tweaked a bit, so please remain flexible on the matter. You may need to send a little more or less to make everything fair and even.

This swap is a little different from other swaps in that you will be shipping to multiple partners. The good news is that your yarn (etc.) can fit in an envelope and will weight very little.

Because of multiple shipping addresses you will not need to get DC numbers. Note this is different from other swaps. However, a receipt from the post office is required. This will be the only way you can prove you shipped if anything goes wrong with the mail. If you cannot produce a scan or copy of this receipt if your package goes missing, you will get negative feedback.

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

 QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:
 Name of swap
 Craftster username
 Email address
 Your real name
 Mailing address including the country
Would you be willing to ship to an address outside your own country? (Please, please, please be willing to do this we are using envelopes and the weight is very light)

Depending on the number of participants, we may get to express a few preferences. (I will try to match up people with preferences, but it may not be possible)

What sort of yarn (ribbons, strips of fabric, etc.) would you prefer to send?
What sort of yarn (etc.) would you prefer to receive?
What are your favorite colors/what colors would you like to recieve?
Would you rather have everything be the same color/colorway, or would you like smaller amounts of different colors?

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR INFO TO ORGANIZER VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE AND NOT TO REPLY WITH IT HERE.

Also remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap.

Can I suggest that some people might want to send ribbons instead of yarn? As it isn't knitted some people wanting to make one might be sewists and not have a yarn stash  Grin The bonus being we'd get even funkier mixes too

This could be a bit of a stash buster too, to get rid of those bits that you can't bear to part with.  Not much effort involved either.

A very cool idea. I think I might just have to sign up for this one since I have so many little balls of yarn lying around the house.

This is my favorite stash-busting idea yet! I have both yarn and ribbons I could include.

I am going to literally PRANCE when I finish my own rapunzel scarf. :-D

Him: I think we've been on the same page for a while now.
Me: What if we're on the same page, but in different books?
