I received my swap package from giantsquid this morning. It got here all the way from the USA really quickly Cheesy

I must aplogise for not ironing my lovely goodies before taking the photos, but I was too excited...

Firstly there's a lovely cotton tote bag trimmed with mushroom print fabric and with a mushroom design on the front. I don't know if it's stenciled or silk-screened -- looks great whatever!

And as if that wasn't enough, it's also reversible: the other side has fabric with lots of little cats on! Here's a closeup:

Delving into the bag I found placemats with the same design. How did you know I have a red dining room, giantsquid...?  Cheesy

Next up: a super-cute mushroom pincushion. Again I think giantquid must've read my mind -- I needed a pincushion.

And last but not least... Japanese chocolate mushrooms. Yum. Just the thing to convince my DH that craft swaps aren't 'daft' at all Grin

I'm sorry to report that the three escapees in the photo didn't get much further...

Thanks so much for my gorgeous stuff giantsquid. Can't wait to see what everyone else gets...

Safetyfox, I'm amazed that got there so quickly.  I was figuring that if I sent early it would end up getting to you about the same time everybody was getting domestic packages.
I'm so glad you like everything.  The bag and the placemats (I think they were actually supposed to be dish towels but I'm sure they would work as both) are silk screened.  Well fake silk screened (see this tutorial for instructions http://community.livejournal.com/craftgrrl/3674467.html.  This was such a great swap.  I can't wait to see what I get from bbonnn.

Ah dish towels that would make sense! Not sure I can bring myself to actually use them though -- they're too nice to get all dirty Cheesy

Thanks for the link to fake silk-screening too. I've always been a bit intimidated by the real thing but I reckon I could handle that.

Smiley

(evil grin)

I'm putting finishing touches on this weekend. Seems like swap packages are never done - you just have to decide to STOP_CRAFTING at some point.

I love your screenprint artwork. I have an affinity for that kind of mushroom design, with the gills peeping out from under the cap.

Nice loot! I can't wait to send my stuff, and you're right bbonn, you do have to decide to just STOP! I am always cutting it short, because I want to add just one more thing!!!

bbonnn, I'm not sure if I should encourage you to quit crafting and send the package or to keep crafting so I get more great stuff.  Either way I'm sure I'll get lots of mushroomy goodness.

Ahhh cute stuff! I'm way excited. This is my favorite swap thus far. My sewing machine broke so I kind of had to go for plan B..... but it's all good!
