My First Hat [IMG Heavy] (NEW! Pattern at top of Pg 2!)
«

So I've never made any type of hat before. I've made headbands, but never a hat.
Well, anyway, I got my first cable needle last week(because I was too cheap to buy one earlier) and decided that now would be a good time to make a hat. And like I do with all of my other projects, I just jumped right in and made it up as I went along! GO ME!
This is the finished product:
I like how the pointy bit came out, and the fit.
This one shows the detail of the pattern.
And this shows off the brim that my brother hates.
Note: Me+Camera=Bad Pics of myself looking sick, high, drunk or all of the above. Forgive the funkiness.
It turned out way better than expected and I can't wait to show it off to all of my friends at school tomorrow!

Very cute. I like it! Don't be offended, but it reminds me of those Kewpie Dolls I see in thrift stores sometimes. If you don't know what I'm talking about, here's an example:
http://www.amydale.com/images/kewpie_doll02.jpg
. I think it's the way the hat is shaped that reminds me of the doll.

Don't worry, I'm not offended, it kinda does look like that.
My friends said it looks like a flower, and my brother said I look like a monk.

Thank you!
I used a discontinued Lion Brand yarn(YAY for free yarn!) but any worsted weight yarn will work.
And yes, it is my own pattern, I might be able to put up a pattern for it if there's some interest.

It's really late and I'm tired, otherwise I'd do it now, but I'll try to post it tomorrow if I can!
