This is my first "real" bag -- I'm so proud of it!  Now I have a cute (i.e., not plain black) bag for my laptop.  I used Simplicity pattern #4391.  It's lined in black, padded with fleece and interfacing, and has an adjustable strap.  Had I thought enough ahead of time I would have put a pocket on the outside for my charger - next time!

Next I want to make a matching camera bag (from the same pattern).  Let me know what you think!  Smiley

Here it is laying on my bed:

With my 'puter inside:

And hanging from my headboard:

I'm very new at this -- constructive criticism is always appreciated!

I love the fabric you used!  This is an excellent bag. A few pockets would have been perfect for it but there is always next time. Smiley  I never thought of using fleece for padding. What a great idea. Did you use anything to adhere the fleece in there or did you just sew the pieces around it?

SWEET!  I LOVE that fabric.  Great bag too.  My husband just got a laptop.  Maybe I'll make him one of these... in a more manly fabric of course.

Thanks for the comments!  Smiley  I cut out my pieces last night, and I put everything together this morning -- so probably 4 hours total.  It was much easier than I thought it would be!

I sewed the fleece to the back of the outer fabric, then put a layer of padding (made of more fleece wrapped around a layer of interfacing) in between the lining and outer fabric.  I pretty much followed the pattern exactly, so I can't take much credit for creativity!

i just made a laptop case myself but didn't even realize there were patterns available. suffice to say, mine isn't perfect. then again, i'm new to sewing too.

i love the fabric too. it looks like something target would sell (which is a total compliment in my book) Smiley

Nice fabric. I bet this would attract some nice comments on the streets.

You did a really great job on this.  And the fabric is much cuter than those plain black bags for computers.

I'm interested in personal swaps -- I love bracelets & necklaces and I don't know how to make them.
