These are a lot of fun to make. Start with 20 gauge wire and make your outer shape, being sure to make a spiral hanger on the top. Mine are appr. 5 inches tall minus hanger.  Use 26 gauge wire and wrap around the spiral to secure, cut the wire at a length that you are comfortable working with. Slide random beads onto the wire and extend the wire across the shape and wrap the wire around a few times. Place more beads on wire and continue to wind wire around in a very random pattern until you are pleased with the way it looks. Finish it off at the spiral, wrapping the wire tightly to secure. I hope my directions are easy to understand!

*these have been hanging in my craft room for 2 years and probably should have been re-shaped a bit before taking pics*

Sooo pretty!  I love them!  Give it to me straight-- is bead shopping as addictive as fabric shopping?  I live near two or three really great bead shops that I'm scared to enter, because I don't need another addiction!

Not for me. I have a serious fabric addiction, I think my family is planning an intervention... or it could just be fabric addiction induced paranoia leading me to believe this.
Anyway, I bought a TON of beautiful boxed assorted glass beads from Joann's clearance rack 3 years ago, they were originally $9.99 a box, marked down to $2.00 so I bought 10, I had to because I am a clearance-whore on top of being a fabric addict. I had so many beads, I made at least 100 beaded book-thongs and sold them and gave as gifts and still had loads of beads left. When people saw that I was making so many thongs they started giving me their beads, unfortunately they were mostly plastic. I decided to use the plastic mixed in with the glass for these ornaments.
We won't even get started about my fascination obsession with paper, hence my screen name.

My name is Carol and I have multiple craft addictions.

As my friend says - you're passionate about it, not obsessed.   Grin  I'm passionate about knitting (but I'm also a freak for change, so next year it will be something else).
