I have been thinking of opening a hip artsy store in either Chattanooga, Knoxville, or Cleveland. It would be cool to have a bunch of people that do different crafts/artforms to open a shop together and split rent/utilities each month, but everyone would need to be dependable of course. I would want to open this in an area where everyone would have good exposure/make decent money.  I am currently making my own clothes and some craft items with my mother who is a seamstress. I live in Dayton, so Chattanooga or Cleveland is preferable. It would be cool to meet up with other crafters in the area as well. If anyone's interested, let me know! I wouldn't be doing it until next year, so that would give us plenty of time to find more crafters and get products ready. I think it would be neat to mesh everyone's styles together and make a unique store to show off our wares! I did the craft fair thing for a while and although it was worth the money spent to rent booths, it just wasn't the same as having a store. I think it would be a fun opportunity and a great chance to meet fellow crafters!

well i'm slightly intrested,
it all depends on how much it would cost,
as i pretty much live off of what i make with my artsy ventures,

also, it would be cool to meet other local crafty people,
i'm in athens, so cleveland isnt too hard for me
(has the closest art supply store)

That would be fun!  I think the trendiest place would be Market Square in Knoxville, but of course would be the most expensive.  I think it would get the most exposure there.

Same here!  Yeah, Market square would be best, but again, also most expensive.  Maybe we can just take over the farmers market hehe

Ah! I went to school in Cleveland and it is NEED of some art!
Now I live in Johnson City and would be VERY interested in something in Knoxville...have been discussing a similar idea with some people here in JC.
I'm hardly ever on Craftster, so if this turns into something email me (swigerATetsuDOTedu)!

It's only $15 to rent a booth at the Farmers Market in Market Square.  Maybe a good place to start?  Here is a link to the application with the rules.  Shall we dare?
