So, after much moaning about the absence of the premeire issue of CRAFT in Canada, I am happy to report that there has been a sighting.  Yes that's right CRAFT #2 is in Canada, or at least at the variety store on the corner of Grand and Keil in Chatham, but you had better be quick because there is only one left on the shelf. Woohoo!

The Indigo on Brant St in Burlington Ontario carries CRAFT, so that would suggest that maybe this magazine will be easier to find in the future!

i found it at thrifty foods (a BC food chain, mostly on vancouver island), so it's out west too!

also, one thing i've learned about chapters on my searches for readymade is that quite often they carry the magazine we're looking for, we just don't realize it cause they sell out so fast!

if you talk to the magazine person (they're usually only in during office hours) and they're not a total idiot, they'll usually be willing to set one aside for you when the next issue comes out, and they'll call and tell you it's in. i had them do that for me at a couple of vancouver stores (i moved, so i switched stores) but the closest chapters to my current house has a really dopey magazine clerk, and she can't be motivated to do it. most will though, so it's worth asking about craft as well!

Nice!  I found the second issue at my school's bookstore in Kingston.  I wasn't expecting the price tag, but I gave in anyway.  Now I have to pick up the third issue.  Can't wait.

Anyone know where I can find the newest issue of Craft in Canada?  I live in Brantford but I commute to Toronto every day (specifically Scarborough), so anywhere in between those places is good!  Smiley

The most reliable place to find it in Vancouver is Chapters. My last one came from the one in Metropolis at Metrotown, but I have bought other issues elsewhere.

Also, The Newsroom (magazine shop) next to Oscar's Art Books in Kerrisdale has it and other fab magazines.

i can never find it at any of the chapters in the lower mainland, so i've given up and i just go to mayfair, the magazine place across the street from chapters at granville and broadway. and it was way cheaper last time too! the clerk told me they get orders from two different suppliers, and they're different prices! i just lucked out and got the $11 one!

I had a second sighting of Craft today in Kingston, Ontario.

The best book store in the world (in my opinion anyway) Novel Idea had it in stock.  It's always a shock to my wallet but I LOVE the magazine.

$11? You're kidding! I've never been that lucky. Good on you. Yes, Mayfair is definitely the place.

Thanks for the hint crafty_dame!

I'm thrilled that my local Michaels (in Saint John) got the fourth issue in. There's a magazine store in town that carries it, but I hadn't bought the three previous issues because of how expensive it was... with a 40% coupon at Michaels, it's not too expensive anymore.  Smiley
