I made this quilt for my sister by combining my favorite fabrics by Heather Bailey and Amy Butler.

I slashed 12 inch squares into six pieces and mixed them all up and stitched them into new blocks. it has cotton batting and is hand quilted.

Oh how pretty! I love the "scrappy" look.  The pattern is so simple but it works so well. Great job!

That's beautiful!!  I love Amy Butler fabrics soooo much.  I just wish they fit into my budget better... Great job with the coordinating between all the fabrics.  The colors are perfect together.

Thanks everybody.
As for the handstitching- don't be too impressed, I take BIG stiches spaced FAR apart. A lap size throw like this takes me about 10-12 hours of handstitching including the binding.

I never spend a lot of money on fabric for myself but this was a birthday gift for my sister. I spent approximately $45-$50 on all the fabric and batting. Not too bad!

An aside note, do any Ontarioans know where you can buy her fabric, other than anywhere online?

So lovely! I really like your quilt, and the hand stitching looks perfect and funky, and it looks classic and contemporary at the same time. Great job!
