Couple of years ago I wanted to try freehand machine embroidery and making a patchwork with a picture. So, I made this pillow case. I used crazy quilting as a background and appliqued houses, road etc. on it. The appletree is filled and apples are red wooden beads.

That is so neat!  I love the idea of using the crazy quilt as a background.  It gives the image more depth and interest.

Speakaboo: I don't remember how long took. But making a purse like this takes 15-20 hours, depends how much time I spend on embellishing. And making a pillow is faster.
