Sadly, after looking at the "Get on the show" link, I do not qualify.  Partly because they do not do kitchens or bathrooms, it seems, and part because I live neither in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale nor the New York/New Jersey areas.  Poor me.  I'll just have to go it alone.  What gets me is that my dad and husband conspired to get me into this mess.  A husband doing this to his child is believable, right?  But a GRANDFATHER?!?  Wink

Humph. That's weird. I could swear I've seen shows in places other than those areas AND I've definately seen kitchen episodes quite a few times.

We should all band together for Lothruin and write TLC, maybe overwhelming with letters for the same person would convince them to go to her house -AND- fix her bathroom and kitchen.
What do you think?

Well, it's really just the bathroom that needs to be done, it's just that the little thing on the page says "We don't do kitchens or bathrooms" so I'm counted out.

The kitchen is another story.  The guy who owned the house before us is the one who screwed that up.  Of course, there's only so much you could do with it.  It's 20" x 7"...  Strange shape for a kitchen.  Let's just say the self-installed suspended ceilings and pre-fab cabinets leave a lot to be desired in my otherwise beautiful early American home.

Anyway, lest you all think I'm a terrible mommy, you should know that Kit rather likes her little rubbermaid tub.  It's plenty big enough for her, and she gets to play in her bath and watch Spongebob at the same time!  Smiley  The worst part about it at this point is trying to give her baths in a real bathtub at Grandmas' houses turns into some kind of wrestling match because she's scared of a bath that big. (Of course, it didn't help daddy took her in there while the water was still running.  The noise alone was probably enough.)  She does fine in her wading pool in the summer, but there's just something about bathtubs that scares the bejeezus out of her.  Oh god.  My daughter is scarred for life.  Of course, my parents' home when my little sister was born was so small that she and I shared the laundry room for sleeping space, and both of us turned fine.  Well, mostly fine.

Thanks, miffy.  Cheesy

Conley is right; we could at least try.  Wink

And miffy is right--they have SO done kitchens (and I've seen them toe into a bathroom, even if it wasn't for major work).  A number of kitchens.  I wonder if said kitchens were always a huge pain in the ass or something, cause they used to have a lot of sympathy for some poor woman who'd been cooking outside for years.  Well pppppppbt to "In a Fix" for being so narrow zoned and minded.

I'd suggest Lothruin raise a volunteer crafter army to assist, but if the crafty injuries thread is any indication, she'd be hosing the blood out of her house for weeks (although I'm sure the house would look fabulous).

Lothruin: If it makes you feel any better, my 2yo son is terrified of the bath, the pool, and anything body of water related. Why, I'll never know. I had to buy one of those detachable sprayer heads for the shower to use for him, its the only way he'll agree to get clean and not fight. In addition to that, both of my babies hate to sleep in cribs. Baby#1 slept in a bouncy chair for three months, then with me and daddy, now he sleeps on the couch in the livingroom. Baby #2 will sleep in either his baby papazan chair or his car seat. I don't even know why I have a crib- though it is a handy place to keep my crafting stuff, however when I have guests they must certainly think I tret my crafts better than my children.

No, you're in no way a bad mommy,.  Now if you didn't bathe her at all that would be a totally different story  Smiley
In A Fix has done a million kitchens!  I should know I watch the show all the time (it's a bit psychologically purging when my dad and father-in-law are both In-a-fix candidates, thank God my husband isn't!) Why the hell should people only in florida and new york get special treatment?!!! They get everything!  If I lived nearby I'd help, I know a bit about home improvement.

This is raising such nightmarish visions for me--- we have to have some major repairs done before April or else our new baby could be smothered in falling plaster... Mr. Man has of course promised everything will be done by then. But he also said he was going to eat less carbs.  One of the things that was supposed to get finished is the "sewing room" upstairs.  I can't even get to my sewing machine because it is hidden behind  boxes taken downstairs "just until we get the upstairs fixed..." argghhh!

Wow, maybe we craftsters should start our own "In A Fix" outreach program... But with Sparky, cause he is wicked hot.
I'd also like to enlist in the craftster army! We would have the best uniforms!
My house is fairly intact, I just have to make sure all the clean laundry is put away before my sister's dog comes over. He burrows into the basket & you really can't see him amongst the towels & underware. It is cute, he's a little bitty black & white Chihuahua, and all you can see is this little nose...

Mmmmmmm..... Sparky..... he is wicked hot

Sparky has given me a new appreciation for men in tool belts, though my hubby has begun to question why I keep suggesting he wear one.
