These are SO adorable! You should make them out of collected fabric scraps and sell them to raise money to plant new trees! I want to hug a tree Smiley
Exactly what I thought! These are sooo cute, and would make such a cool fundraiser!

These are so cute! I'm trying to think of a way to incorporate them into my science curriculum (or curriculum is very tight)...we are doing the kingdoms of living things soon, so maybe I could work it in there somehow when we do plants.

The problem is, I don't want to buy all of the fabric...maybe I'll make a set and then if kids want to make their own, they can bring in what they need (maybe even an old shirt would work). Instead of embroidery "creatures," I'll probably have them make them out of felt and use fabric glue to attach them.

About how big did you make yours?

Thanks for sharing!

thanks for all the comments!! I'm glad you all like my little trees. I am actually donating part of the sale price of these to the Arbor Day foundation. Smiley I love the idea that they'll help plant real trees.  To answer some questions, they are around 11-12 inches tall. I didn't use a separate pouch for the rice, just poured it into the bottom. Just be sure your seams are tight! I haven't had any problem with it. It took maybe 2-3 hours to make each one.  Smiley

They are so cute.  Suggestion  make a small sign to go with them
saying  "Crafters National Forest."
