Sex, Crafts and Silmarils… (Best of 2014 Winner!)

Thinking it wouldn't be too hard, I claimed Momof2! in the Ongoing Wish Swap for an easter bunny plush… in the end I made not one but three bunnies, trying to get it right. Thankfully I had enough fabric…

My first creation I baptized "Mr. Wonky", because his legs weren't in the middle and his arms were weirdly lopsided. I couldn't send him in the swap, but my mother immediately called dibs on him, so he went to a good home after all.
My second creation turned out somewhat more feminine-looking, yet still lopsided as the first try. Another bunny I couldn't send… on the upside, Mr. Wonky now had a wife. Because only a heartless person would separate such a happy couple, this one too ended up with my mother. (Aren't they cute?)

After two "fails" I figured that simple as it seemed, the pattern I was using (a free pattern from RevoluzZza) just wasn't working for me. So, I drafted one myself. And lo and behold, that did work!  This one is named William, and he's a bit smaller than the others. Because I used only one type of fabric for this bunny, I also made him a little vest.

I hope William will arrive in time for Easter!

Your pattern did work better.  And the vest gives it a nice touch.

Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.

Lovely bunnies but your pattern is by far the better of the two.
"If you want something done properly - do it yourself"  So true - although I expect you learned a lot about what did and didn't work from the first two bunnies.
I like his little red waistcoat and the expression on his face.
