Posting Flickr Pictures in Threads...HELP!

Hey there,

I recently made myself a Flickr accout and I love it.  However, I am totally lost as to how to post my Flickr hosted pics in threads on Craftster.

I used to use Photobucket, and it was quite easy.  Just one click and I had the proper stuff to get my pic up.  I can't seem to find anything like this with Flickr. 

I'm sure there is an option, I think I've heard of people doing this.  Can someone help me out with this one?

When i use flickr i first click the picture i want then i click on the little magnifying glass that says all sizes (this it located right under the picture title) then i pick the size picture i want and copy the url
and place it between the image tags and you get the image tags buy clicking the little picture next to the red circle thing in your reply.
and you have your picture

But there's this bit you have to contend with:

Remember! Flickr Terms of Service specify that if you post a Flickr photo on an external website, the photo must link back to its photo page.

It's easy enough to do, you just have to play with the BBCode.

Go to your photo's main page...above your photo on that page is a button that says "All Sizes"...the "All Sizes' page gives you multiple size options, click on which one you'd like to post (I believe the maximum width for a pic on Craftster is 500 pixels, so choose accordingly)...scroll to the bottom of the page, past the HTML (doesn't work here), to find the photo's URL.

Once you know the photo's URL and the URL of the photo's main page, you need to configure your BBCode:

Or, using one of my own photos as an example (done on two lines so it doesn't run off the side of the post):

That code gives me a little square version of my daffodil pic that leads back to the photo's main page:


I believe there's been a few requests for Flickr to add a cut-and-paste BBCode option, but nothing has come of it so far that I know of...there are converter websites, made by Flickr members, that will change the HTML to BBCode for you, but I find that going to an extra website takes longer than a wee bit of hand-coding: flickr HTML 2 BBCode converter

Thanks, aliastriona_angerbo da. I've been wondering the same thing myself, and have just been posting a link back to my flickr page. This is a much cleaner way of making a post, and not hard whatsoever!

I always set the size of my pics to 500 wide (or tall, depending on the orientation) before I upload them to Flickr. Then I just go to the pic I want, right click and go to properties. Copy the URL from there, go to my Craftster post, click on the picture button and insert the URL between the image tags.

gah- I still can't get the code to work after almost an hour!!

So I posted the jpg link directly, then added a url pagelink to comply.

I'm sure I'm making this harder than it actually is...

aliastriona_angerbo da--I couldn't get your BBCode method to work. The image kept showing as a blank white square with the message "this image is unavailable".

Oh, by the way, the picture is of some ATC envelopes (envies) made for a swap.
