I finished my first sweater!  It's the Flower Girl pattern by Monkeysuits, knit in Goa by GGH.

The buttons are a small heart button layered over a bigger round button, with the holes matched up.  I'll definitely do that again - it's so much more fun than basic buttons.

Here it is on the fairy godchild:

I made it in the 2 year old size and she's barely 1, so she should get a lot of wear out of it.  Right now she can wear it with the sleeves turned up.

I'm knitting a pattern from the Monkeysuits book right now - it's a little swing jacket with mohair trim.  I'm using fuchsia wool and trimming it with lime green mohair.  I heart Monkeysuits - the patterns are easy (at least the ones I've tried - they're graded by difficulty) and the instructions are easy to understand for Novice Girl.  What's the point of having a godchild if I can't sew and knit adorable stuff for her?  Plus it's totally building my confidence to take on adult-size knit projects at some point!

I love that!  The hat is the cutest part.    What a lucky little girl she is!

Don't you love that Goa??  I just made a baby blanket and hat for my soon-to-be-emerging-into-the-world nephew!

What a totally cute ensemble, I'll have to look at those patterns for my 3 yr. old Daughter.

what a cool idea for the buttons - I've never thought of doing that.  I am going to choose buttons for a baby sweater later this week - I may copy your idea.  Smiley

that  is too cute! absolutely adorable. Of course, I think someone could make just about anything and put it on a kid and it would be adorable.
