If so, which country?

All ages allowed? Or 18+? All Ages

Swap Organizer himself/herself meets these conditions:
- Has fully read the Swap Info Guide: YES
- Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES
- Is not organizing more than three swaps right now: YES

- Does not have any negative feedback: YES

Details of swap:

This is your chance to make Chinese New Year Themed ATCs!  Yellow, gold, red, dragons, coins, red envelops -- whatever Chinese New Year's means to you!  The new year will be the year of the boar/pig.  You will make 3 ATCs and trade them with 1 partner.  They can be part of a series or they can be 3 wildly different cards -- it's up to you, as long as they are Chinese New Year Themed.  ATCs are small and light-weight, so a DCN will not be required.  However, there are a couple of special mail considerations:

1) You *must* PM me and your partner when you send.

2) If your cards are not received by your partner 2 weeks after the date they are sent, you will have to make and send 3 new cards.

3) If you are mailing to someone in another country, you must send your cards by airmail.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to PM me.  It's not possible to communicate too much with me!  New swappers and new ATCer's are welcome.

The "new theme" discussion thread for this swap is here:

Yay!  A new ATC swapper!  Don't worry about being so far away -- the longer shipping time just makes it more fun when the ATCs arrive!   Grin

I made my cards for this swap last weekend, so I'm going to have to find some other mischief to get into.

I got one card done today and am formulating ideas for more.
I happened to find a little red money envelope in my massive collection of asian antique items, so I plan on using that on one of them Smiley

Ok everyone, partners are assigned on page 1 and PMs have been sent out with address information.  Please let me know if you find any discrepancies.

Also, I've left feedback for everyone -- please double check that you have "In Progress" for this swap, and let me know if there are any problems!

i am stuck on what to use for background...as in the piece you stick the stuff on... i'm guessing normal people just use some form of cardstock... but i don't have too much of that readily avaible... hm... flemsy magazine pages just seems too thin... any suggestions?

p.s. there are too many chinese new year things for me to narrow it down.

playing cards could work. Its a good way to use of decks missing cards, the jokers or instruction cards.

You could use food boxes -- just cut them down.  Where you are, I bet you have all kinds of interesting food boxes with Chinese on them -- you could cut it so that the print is on the back of the card and visible, and you have a nice plain surface on the front to work with.

Anything that is thin, lightweight, and somewhat stiff works fine.  Please don't use paper alone -- it won't survive the mail.

I just changed the date for sendouts to 2/20 -- 2/19 is a mail holiday in the U.S.

Also, if you've already sent, please check the swap record to make sure I've recorded the information properly.

Ahh, I got a new printer cable (after the cat having eaten the last one - pouring a little lemon concentrate over the new cable seems to have made him uninterested), and I convinced boyfriend to give me clear packing tape for valentines... Soon I can complete my ATC's and send out! Cheesy

Hehehe, he's great! He got me a set of dragonfly stamps for christmas! Grin But he knows what it's like to be on the end of receiving eye-rolling too, it was very difficult to convince my parents that the thing he wanted the most for christmas was a pair of silent fans for his computer Roll Eyes My mother was horrified and bought him a book as well as the fans, almost as an excuse for having bought "the stupid thing he wished for" Wink

same here.  Mine bought me a cross-stitch kit, and he didn't roll his eyes (he even picked it out) but there were utterances of "oh god, you're always crafting something"
