My new head arrived today, so now I can show you these hats! Cheesy  (The lace doesn't photograph well against my dark hair.)  They were made from free patterns I found on the internet.  The patterns are well-written, easy to follow, and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to give lace a try.

The first hat is the Maple Seed.

I used Patons Classic Merino in the Old Rose color and US 7 needles, and cast on 96 sts (adding one repeat to the pattern) then followed the instructions for the medium size.

The second and third hats were made using the Beaufort pattern and PCM yarn in Russet and Storm Blue, and again I used #7 needles, cast on 96 sts, added one pattern repeat, and knit the medium size.

All of the hats fit perfectly, but I think the russet Beaufort is my favorite!

Thanks for the nice comments!

No, I didn't write the patterns, but I am always on the lookout for something different and when I found these, I just had to make them!  Wink

I've heard it both ways.

I'm looking to swap some knit &/or crocheted crafts for handmade CP/HP soap.

Oh, those are cool!  I've been looking for a new hat to knit to augment my tired winter collection...  These look like just the things to cheer me up in the cold.   Grin
