I've been crocheting for years and it's my true passion but I've always wanted to knit as well.  I have picked it up many times and gotten frustrated and put it back down. But now I've finally done it.  It's a simple scarf but I'm super excited that I can now say that I knit too.

Well done you!! You did it!
I'm actually the reverse: a knitter learning to crochet and getting very frustrated. Angry

Yay LuvCrochet! this thread makes me smile. i tried knitting more than once too, and absolutely couldn't stand how frustrated it made me feel. I kept calling my mom and saying "i just don't enjoy knitting!" but now, i can join LuvCrochet's club of crocheters who knit too (you should see the most horrible hat i made)!

Rearranged, it just take a couple of awful projects, then they start getting better. My second knit hat is only marginally better than the first. plus, take heart! All yarn crafters have crummy projects when they're just learning either one. it's ok to give it up for a while, just be sure you come back to it, you'll be glad you did!

Great work!  I'm a crocheter learning to knit too--continental style.  Two scarves, and scheming to knit my first sweater.  Keep it up!

awesome work - you should have seen *my* first scarf! it was a disaster. i somehow made about 80 extra stitches - no joke! for some reason by the time i realized it there was no turning back...so i just decreased back down the desired width. it was a very funny looking scarf!
but yours is so square and beautiful.
welcome to the wonderful world of knitting!
(p.s. i can't crochet to save my life  Grin Grin Grin )
