My proud little weaver :)

This is my seven-year-old, Timothy, with his second woven scarf:



He made it on an Easy Weaver child's loom. I'm shocked at how good he is at getting his edges even and packing down the weft. The first six inches of scarf aren't quite as neat as the rest, but it had been four or five months since he finished his first weaving project.

Oh yeah, he knits too.

Congrats on the fantastic scarf, Timothy!  It looks wonderful!  I'm very jealous.

Very neat!  I really like the almost ikat-ish pattern he ended up with because of the colors too!

It was still in the box, warped with the original yarn, and only a couple inches of weaving had been done by the original owner. What a steal!

Way to go! My 12 year old son is a fifth generation weaver, and has been weaving since he was about 5 or 6. I am glad now that his arms stretch all the way across our 48" loom so I don't have to sit on the loom bench with him to help him throw the shuttles. You have started a proud family heritage!

Go, Timmy, Go! I am teaching a textile class this summer at my Montessori school and I am going to tell the children all about Timmy and will show them your post so they can see that they can make a scarf too!
