I made a pleated tote from mgenevieve's tute here.

I lined it and added a matching flower brooch. I love how it turned out--it's small, but poofy, so it can hold a ton!

Here's a model shot:

And here's a shot of the pretty lining fabric I used:

Thanks for looking!

This is really pretty!  I love the pattern on the bag.

how long did it take you to put together?  i'd love to give this one a try.  would it be hard for a beginner?  all i've made so far is the tiny happy shoulder bag: http://tinyhappy.typepad.com/tiny_happy/2006/06/shoulder_bag_tu.html

i'd really appreciate your feedback.

Thanks! I love the fabric too.

The bag only took an afternoon, but although the tutorial was great, it might be a little confusing for a beginner. Also, if you want a lined bag, you probably shouldn't start with this one, because I had to make that part up as I went along, since mgenevieve didn't line hers, so there weren't instructions in the tutorial for it. I would suggest that you look at the sha-sha dream bag or the Jordy bag tutorials for your second project.

It was sooo nice here in Seattle last week--in the 50s. But now it's frosty and drizzly again, but I'm still hoping!

No, I just made the flower up as I went along--I ripped some scraps into strips, tacked them down onto a small circle of wool felt, and added a button.

I just love the flower, I have been looking at it a couple of days, and just can't figure out how you did the flower, would you consider a tut for it Huh  I made a few bags that would be just perfect for that flower   Grin

I'm interested in personal swaps -- I love bracelets & necklaces and I don't know how to make them.

I have a question, how did you make that cute flower?? love it!
