I made this hat for my niece...sadly, I temporarily lost the "logic" part of my brain while I was making it and it was waaay too small. I ended up taking part of it apart and adding some cut up sock to make it larger, but I think I will have to make a new "hat" part to have it actually fit her head. (This is what happens when you take baby measurements over the phone!)

Anyhoo, the logo is hand-emboridered and made of denim and felt. Ears are leftover fabric I had and denim on the back, and the hat itself is polar fleece.

This is a great hat!  The Bears were great in the beginning of the game weren't they?

thanks, guys!

Iamsusie, I actually don't follow football at all, hee hee. My sister and her husband and daughter just moved to Chicago, and wanted to show some Bears spirit...it is a bummer they didn't win, though!

The real truth is that I am sort of a fair weather fan.  I can't summon enough interest to get excited for the entire season, although I do like to know that my team is winning.   It is fun to be a sports fan in a sports city.  Sports really dominates in Chicago.

Usually I'm staring down at my crochet or embroideries or looking at the computer and up at the TV only occasionally. I watched every play of the last few Bears games!

Really, your hat is so cute and I love the way you did the embroidery on the C.  I also like exposed hand-stitching very much.

I'll be back someday. Just not now.

Cute hat! Shame it didn't fit.  Maybe you could try another one in blue and white?  Wink

Hope the loss didn't adversely affect your niece too badly.

Really cute and a shame it came out small.

Im not really a football fan, but I do follow the bears a bit. Heck, I live in the area and its impossible to walk around on a monday and not hear the score of the game the weekend before. Shame they lost. My friends and I decided that the game should be only 20 seconds , more exciting. And we would have won

Hee hee, my niece was okay with it, as she's 9 mos. and my sister and her husband don't really care about sports either...I think we were all sadder about the hat!

I think I will make the hat with four pieces instead of two next time - and possibly a band around the bottom also? I have a habit of making things, and then realizing that there is a better pattern/way of doing things after they're done, heh heh.

I *do* miss living in Chicago! My friends who are still there and my sister were telling me about how the whole city had football fever - reminded me of how much fun it is when sports teams are doing well!
