The sizes of the washers are going to depend on the size of the bolt and the diameter of the coil you use for this.  They are there for stability, and also to make it look prettier.  When you get your coil, measure the bottom part, and that will be your largest washer size....take them down in size from there.  I wouldn't use a terribly long bolt myself....because I'm lazy LOL.  I think that bu the time you get done stacking the washers it will look like an obelisk...art within the outer art.
