So, it took me practically forever to knit this certain scarf, but finally I finished it!  And it was surprisingly beautiful and becoming on me!  It was a perfect success!  However, yesterday I decided to put it in the next load of laundry.  Apparently not a good idea...

The yarn was completely synthetic so I thought, Hey just wash and wear, right?  No.  I think the dryer did its evil magic too well and now it feels like its been melted together and it's rough and unwearable.  And I dont know if it can be fixed...

Crap.  I really liked it too...

Lesson to be learned:  NEVER WASH ANYTHING... that, or keep your yarn wrappers...

Or alternately just don't put anything made of yarn into the dryer.  Washer good, dryer BAD.   Sad  Sorry about your scarf.

I pretty much only use cheap acrylics, but I'm paranoid to wash my stuff in a machine. I'm working on a really pretty cap right now, and I would die if all the work I spent on it went to waste.

I must be charmed....I washed a wool sweater the other day and it was fine. And some acryllic mitteins for my daughter.

I do feel your pain, though. I've had my kids decide to play with yarn and cut up projects before....

Well, the scream was pretty bad....then when I calmed down I was ok...frogged a ton and was able to rejoin.

That's good. I'd be scarred for life if that happened to me. That's why my projects will stay FAR FAR AWAY from my children when I have them!
