Word! My dear boyfriend and I have been playing Final Fantasy XII since Christmas, when I got it. We kind of play as a team sport--one of us actually plays while the other figures out strategy and yells Wink Anyway, today we were wandering about in an area called the Salikawood where there are all these little bunnies. They're in a few areas of the game and called different names (Happy Bunny, Giza Rabbit, Ozmone Hare, Wyldhare, Vorpal Bunny...etc. etc.) but at any rate, we just can't kill them. They're too vomit-inducingly cute, and they make this adorable squeaking noise. So I decided around 2 this afternoon that I wanted to make one. Problem was, to get a good picture you have to look in the bestiary...and to get them to show up in the bestiary, you have to kill one! So I wasted about two hours looking for a decent picture online. Tongue

Anyway, I finished this around 11. I love it! It's the first plushie pattern I've ever drafted from scratch, and it came out JUST how I wanted it to. And it's life-size!

Now, the real Happy Bunny looks like this:

As you can see, its ears are really giant feathers, and its tail is perfectly round. When I make the next one, I'm going to smooth out the curves a little, and I'm buying some real feathers, and long-pile fur for the fuzzy parts (rather than the velboa I had in my stash) as well as domed black buttons for the eyes and some kind of big plastic jewel for the gem (does anyone have suggestions on that?) but I still love him. Smiley His name is Francis.

So without further ado, here's Francis:

Awww!  That is so adorable!!! I want one >_<  Also, I love Final Fantasy in all of its forms, so mad props.  Wow... I cannot wait to see the next one.  If you ever decide to sell one of these (since you say you're making more) please let me know!

I am interested in personal, more-art swaps.  If you are interested in an earnest and unique package, please PM me.  Equivalent trade isn't necessary, and while I intend to send more-art, I am not adverse to receiving more craft!

So cute!  and I admire your restraint - I'm so obsessed with getting my bestiary complete that I had no qualms about smacking the bunnies down (of course, I was frequently bitten by rabbits as a child...)

As far as suggestions for the jewel, I'd suggest making a form out of some tinfoil or a cut-up soda can and melting some translucent pony beads.

Eeee!!  Happy bunnies!  Alright, guys, you have to tell me if I'm completely insane: have any of you ever had a happy bunny cure you?  I mean, maybe it was just someone's gambit kicking in at the exact moment I was standing right in front of one, but I swear it did.  My roommate thinks I'm insane.  Also, those things are such a pain in the butt to kill because they run away!

Oh, man, I really want a happy bunny plushie.  SO CUTE.

No, you're totally right! Happy Bunnies use potions on you sometimes. :3 Hence why I have such trouble killing them Tongue
