I was wondering if, instead of roving, I could send handpainted batts of wool?  Or handpainted fleece that was carded (I can even throw in pretties like angelina or down or silk noil or flax or whatever, etc).  Because my Fricke is giving me pitiful glances, and my Mum just gave me a white baby-alpaca fleece that's been sitting by it's lonesome Wink

I'm sure that would be fine too!
I've never spun from a batt, but assume it's pretty similar to spinning from roving, and as long as it's hand painted... Smiley

I think handpainted batts or fleece are fine as well...

I have batt sort of things and I just pre draft from them and go. I like it, actually. I have also pulled them apart and carded, which would be a neat way to mix the colors.

I like making stuff. Rumor has it, I'm an elf. Like a Santa Elf, not one of those elegant LOTR types.  Mostly because I compulsively craft and partially because I have green shoes.
