Hey thanks Smiley
Its funny you should say than, since i bought these colours especially because i thought they'd be nice for a scarf and mittens set! (i guess the squares just got started first Smiley)
They aren't any pparticular brand - i just got some lightish purple and blue and cream 100% acrylic dk yarn at a store called 'Lincraft' (I guess its kinda the same as Jo-anns)
They were only like $1.50 each ball (100grams/320metres each)
I think any pale purple and blue would be nice together though.
Hope that helps?
btw, i love the red crochet blog Smiley

I now have 31 squares all finished.
I'm not sure yet how big this is going to turn out - like I said I want one of every combination possible with my yarn.
At the moment I have 3 blues, 3 purples, so (I think Undecided) I will end up with 54 squares.
Thing is, I think my 3rd purple might be too purple - its really dark.
So I don't know whether to rip 7(!!!) of my squares back, or keep going and maybe add another more medium purple and a navy-ish blue to get the balance back - then I will end up doing 90ish squares!
I'll try to post some pics tomorrow for advice Smiley

you're doing SO WELL! I've decided my hexagons need another row around the outside edge, so I have only 16 really truly done, but 7 more half-done.

this is going to take forever! (I think I need a knitting break.)
