So, I minored in Russian in college and am an uber-nerd, so of course after seeing all the cool newspaper/modpodge-of-something shoes on here, I had to do it. I got the shoes at Goodwill, but where to find a russian newspaper? Enter a trip to Denmark, where I magically found one! So...

The writing on the toes is "Putin" and "Asteroid." Oh, and they have stacked heels Smiley  I'm considering putting some thin brown ribbon along the insides since they're not perfectly even, but I'm not sure it would look good... ideas??

Comments/criticism appreciated!

Those are so neat looking, you could paint a black strip or brown instead of ribbon. Just an idea.  Cool shoes.

Haha, I sound so rich and fancy saying that... The newspaper was an added bonus, not the point of the trip of course! Though admittedly it's pretty awesome that I got to go Smiley

And thank you guys very much!

These are great!  I've been wondering what to do with all of the Russian printed crap I've been collecting.  (If anyone is looking newspapers without the trip, I'm living in Ukraine now and could mail you some.  There's even a Russian version of Cosmopolitan here!)

Uber-nerds unite.  Smiley

I like the idea of using newspaper.  I would love a big stack of japanese newspaper so I could decopodge lots of things! Grin
