Birth control pill cases?

I have a bunch of hard plastic cases from my birth control pills. They're shallow rounded rectangles, with lots of holes in the top. Most of them are purple, but I've got a couple of bright green ones, too.
I'm sure there's a use for them, so I haven't thrown out a single one, but, uh, they're starting to pile up.

Someone could probably better refine the idea.  I have the same cases, but in an ugly forest green color (though I could maybe paint it a better color, I don't know what paint, if any, works good on plastic).  You would have to leave the case open (because of the plugs and too much cord in between each light), but you can stick christmas lights through the holes.  Not perfect, but just something to start brainstorming with.
