I used fuschia because it was what I had a lot of

If you want to change the background color, you could always add another color on top even now to change the fuschia to something a little different.  This could be done in various ways, for example:

You could tint some liquid clay then paint it on the background, or  you could "stain" the background a bit with some rubbed-on/wiped- off artists' oil paint, etc.

Or you could sponge on a tinted liquid clay or another colorant (paint, ink, etc.).

Or you could use a metallic powder (mixed into liquid clay or into a clear finish-- a little or a lot, glossy or matte) all over, or just in spots --perhaps sponged.

Or you could stamp (with various things, all over or in spots)... if you stamp enough, you could change the actual color... or by just using a light color you'd change the look of the background color.

(Most of those things could be wiped off before they dry if you didn't like the effect.)

Ms NewEngland! Those cards are just stunning! I don't know that I'd change the background on the dragonflies....

Thank you BB.....you know you and I are swapping cards in the pick a them swap?  Ok, I might make you a clay card if you like these.
I'm not going to change the dragonflies backgrounds.  I'm not that ambitious.....but those were some good suggestions.

I too love the clay cards! I bought some of those face molds and made a couple of cards. Unfortunately...being new at it, the whole thing came out so thick and heavy that I can't afford to mail them, lol.

Practice makes perfect though.

Tee and I did a personal swap, her idea for a 'Brains the other white meat' card for some [shaving cream] marbled paper.  Smiley
