i claim defunctbuffalo for paper and ephemera

claims: 2
sent: 0
received: 0

My name is Christy. I'm 21 and live in Southern California. I love cats, bright colours, rainbows, and uhm... crazy stuff. I'm currently "going back to school" and am interested in Sociology, Psychology, and Art.

There's a link on my signature. It's ancient... but STILL accurate!

I love scarves (even though I live in Los Angeles).

I want knitted or crocheted wash cloths!

Beads are always good (so long as they're not kiddie beads).

I have been dying for a kitty hat!!! And I've been wearing hats a lot since I chopped all my hair off. My head is always cold

How 'bout some of them nifty headbands?

And of course, paper and ephemera!!! I likie

Oh! oh!!! A sturdy Tote bag please??!?! For school! stenciled??? That'd be hot. It doesn't need to be huge. Just has to be able to hold a notebook and a textbook. Please make straps long enough to wear comfortably over my shoulder.

OOOOH!!! A soap-making kit??? Please? If not... some hand-made soap!!

Do you like to cook or bake? feel free to throw a recipe or two in my package.

I also really like stationery and pens!

Share your favourite kind of tea with me! Yeah, that might be a command

Not from North America? Send me some of your yummie treats and candies!

Thankies!!!!

I claim snowyangel for a surprise from her wists.

This is my 4th claim, but one was RECEIVED. (Lesson learned)

Hi! I currently live in Los Angeles. Im a writer, artist and musician, but mostly a fiber fanatic. My list:

* Anything inspired by the wists (or any surprise you think I might like. Seriously)
http://www.wists.com/starathena

SEWN:

* Pajama pants

* Any simple skirt that's not tapered or a micro-mini. A-line and wrap are good.

* An apron to wear when I dye and spin.

* Homemade heating pad

MAKE:

* Homemade knitting needles

* T-shirt that says: Keep on knitting in the free world (I have one, but could use another)

* Mixed paper journal - (I cant get enough)

* Silhouette art. Bhean made me something beautiful and I could use more.

* Address labels/notes for my homespun yarn etsy shop.

* Any art inspired by knitting, spinning, or related stuff.

* Stationery or cards related to knitting or spinning. (get my theme yet?)

* Swap journal (heres the example but it could be simpler of course):
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=77501.0

* Small Amigurumi sheep, llama, alpaca  or unicorn. Im interested in patterns too.

* Cute binder to organize all the knitting patterns Ive photocopied or downloaded, etc.

JEWELRY:

* Earrings (Im allergic to cheap metal though sorry! I think nickel is the problem)

* Necklaces. Interesting, maybe pendant style. Glass, enamel, wood, whatever.

SUPPLIES:

* Knitting books, booklets, magazines. Especially stitch pattern books.

* Any Japanese craft books or magazines relating to felting

* Tie dye kit I plan on using it to dye cotton yarn and roving for spinning.

Other info: Im in my early thirties. I used to sew a lot but now that I spin and knit, I dropped the sewing. Thats why there are so many sewn things listed here. I love Earth tones, fall colors, and 70s kitchen colors. Lately it's been robin's egg blue with olive. I love the woods and the things you find in them. I used to live in Washington State and miss it from time to time. I like modern, vintage and cute but not childish. I dont need anything too girly/young/frilly or hot neon colors. I like something from every decade so my taste is a bit eclectic. pm me if you want to know anything else, it's not a problem. Thank you for reading this and big thank you if you pick me!

alright, back on track! I claim knitwit for two skirts, hurray I'm back in the game!

This is my second claim, 1 received (I'm a newbie!)

I'm Sarah, 26, in Santa Barbara, CA (but originally from the NW and yes, I miss the rain). Currently in an ma/phd program in theatre history. I love intricate, delicate things, esp. nature-inspired: deer, birds, ferns, leaves, trees, starfish, poppies, and things that look like Versailles wallpaper patterns. Favorite colours: I wear a lot of soft greens and blues and grays/neutrals. No neon anything, please. Some pastels okay - inquire? I also like ruddy oranges and burgundies. I CANNOT wear yellow without looking jaundiced. I love Virginia Woolf, Remedios Varo, Mary Oliver, Anton Chekhov. I paint, sew, embroider, cook. I love photography, esp. artful photos of the female body. My ever-expanding wist should give you a pretty good idea of my taste.

organizational stuff:
1.) wood box shelves. Any woodworkers out there? Books are taking over my apartment and I don't have a saw! I could use as many of these as I could get, no backs, just 10-12-inch-deep squares. Hangers on the back optional. Finishing optional.

Craft Stuff:
3.) Down pillow inserts that I can cover. 50/50 blend of poly/down is okay, too. Prefer square, 14" or 20".

4.) Optical Lenses for making necklaces/neat pretty things with glass. Id like 4-6 of these, vintage/European/oval-shaped if possible, but not necessary.

5.) sterling (oxidized would be great) or oxidized steel links (yep, just ovals/circles). Esp. artisanal/unique links of different sizes/shapes/textures (hammered?) for making jewelry - I incorporate these into a lot of different things. Weathered/darkened brass would be okay, too!

6.) I'm really out of chains right now! I'd like sterling silver, oxidized silver (or steel), and/or darkened/antiqued-finish brass. I could use several feet of any or all of these. I tend to work more with delicate chains (but not so tiny you can't get a head or eye pin in the links!), but I am getting into heavier weights, too!

7.) Sterling headpins/eyepins. In 20 or 22 gauge. If you're feeling generous, I'd love some headpins with pretty detailed heads.

8.) Semi-precious gemstone beads no chips, please, but any round/faceted/cabochan, etc. beads would be great! I love peridot, smoky quartz, rose quartz, citrine, chalcedony, garnet, carnelian, amethyst, turquoise, freshwater pearls, etc.

9.) Fabric colours above. Natural fibers, please, or some modal-blends for making T's/tanks, or silk for spring/summer tops or linen for summer tops/skirts? Oh! some cotton voile with a great print would be nice for making summer skirts. I'll get some patterns that I like up on my wists for ideas. Min 1yard, but 2+ is great!

10.) shadowbox for making shrines or art pieces wood or metal, no cardboard/paper mache, please.

11.) Suede or exotic leathers (ostrich?/snakeskin?) in bright colours (teal? cherry red? kelly green?). Scraps fine, just enough to make a cuff bracelet with (6.5" X 3-4")

crafted items:

12.) If someone wanted to make me a cap like anthropologies Rapunzel Snow Cap (http://www.anthropologie.com/jump.jsp?itemID=14171&itemType=PRODUCT&iSubCat=2072&iMainCat=336), I would love you forever!! Id prefer a lightweight mohair blend yarn, and a cap with a little room so it doesnt crush my hair flat when I wear it. PM me for head measurements?

13.) fingerless gloves in a cable pattern, or like eunny's endpaper mitties OR if you could make longer ones and work a bare branch pattern over them (see the hat in my wist. like that would be great!). I have abnormally skinny fingers with poor circulation and cold mornings just KILL me. There are some examples on my wist of cable ones that I like. Preferably in logan green, slate grey, burgundy, or navy. PM for measurements?

14.) A sturdy tote for packing the extra books that don't fit in my backpack, with a long strap that can be worn over the shoulder. Perhaps with a cute print/stencil/embroidery/silkscreen? perhaps something foresty... a fawn? An owl? A wee foxie? ferns? Surprise me!

15.) Something from my wist!

16.) *big wish* If anyone would be interested in making some PMC items, I have a few pieces Id really like made to be incorporated into jewelry pieces. They would be relatively small, but I have no $ or room for a kiln, so I can't possibly do it right now... this would be AWESOME.

17.) stenciled or embroidered T? Wist/anthropologie catalogues should give you an idea of what I like. Pref. longer-length, as I am nearly 6' tall and don't like to have my tummy bare. Size XS for tanks/camis, size S for T's/anything covering my big ol' shoulders. thanks, Banga, I love it love it love it!!

Thanks so much for picking me!! =)

I claim snowyangel for a tshirt -
this is my 5th claim, 2 have been received.

I am in Huntsville, AL... living it up with the kids, the dog, the husband and the craft room!

I have been adding to my list to try and keep the swap from stalling.  Please take a look again.  I have added lots since posting this

Here's my wish list... just in time to bring this swap to a screeeeeching halt!

DIY kits!
I love love love the idea of diy kits!
How to make molds for resin stuff - would love to make a trilobite especially!
how to make clay (fimo? premo?) buttons
how to make paper kit
how to make fabric boxes like these....fabric boxes by funthreads

Supplies - I love supplies.

***sewing stuff -I love my sewing machine.
*snaps for a snap setter - fun ones I don't see many that aren't boring.  I have a a snap setter and I want to become friends with it. Maybe eyelets?
***Crochet Stitch dictionaries/guides- I have 6 right now but really would love more! Second hand is good for those!  check my cheesy for craftster website for a list of the ones I have already big kiss for Homerof2! Kiss
***okay. I give in.  I can't cut a straight line to save myself.  I think I might need a rotary cutter set up of some sort?
****stabilizers - water soluable, tear away.  I'm flexible!

Crafted things:
****this knitters tote bag.  Yeah, lack of time won't let me make it myself! knitters tote bag
****some kind of wipedownable mat/cushion for Collin when he plays in his sandbox.. we think he might have a bit of a grass allergy..
***this pet bed - I tried.  Let's not go there.  Let's just say it was not a happy ending... no fleece or felt.  he eats those materials.  he likes soft.  I saw courdorouy at both of my Walmarts in the dollar bin!http://sewing.about.com/library/weekly/aa010606.htm]pet bed
***this valance for one of my windows.  pm me for my boring fabric ideas!
really cool valance

*** some kind of soft sided travel organization for when I go to my sewing group - bobbin containment, spots for scissors, etc I am at your creative mercy to help me organize my trek to the sewing store! I have been just shoving things into zippered pouches and it isn't working too well!
***Two fabric stuffed dragons - snuggly size for my kids - not beanie baby.  I love Simplicity 4063.  Not fleece or felt - the dog eats those materials!
There is another one - even better in my wists!
http://www.aardvarktozebra.com/dragon.html
I will personal trade for a second  - or claim me twice!  You know I will be claiming again eventually!
***a futon cover for my queen sized futon - like that will ever happen, right? That is a biiiig wish!  You never know though.  It is just soooo ugly right now!  Just big and green.
***Feel like massive knitting?  I loooove this cape!  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=147304.10

***a set of washable fabric placemats - nothing too girly pm me for ideas?I think I am getting these from another swap!
***reconned tshirts for me - size ladies large - I would love a few with neckline recons done on them - that's all.  I will embroider on them when I get them!  I am so sick of crew necks!  Can you make them look like tunics with a slit on the side too?  so cool!  If you send a few I will send one back with embroidery on it!

***music - I like industrial, alternative no metal or noise.  pm me or stalk me. I am stuck in the 90's!   maybe if you have a used cd store nearby?  I really don't need a cd wallet though. got oodles of those.
