hair falls i made out of some $7.50/skein megathick yarn from the local AC Moore.

i cut strips twice the length of what you see, and wrapped them around 2 small hair elastics (so that each strip made for 2 dread falls) - i did that about 25 times (read: 50 falls) on each elastic, then placed them over a bun on each side of my head. a few bobby pins to secure it all and they were a total hit at the world electronic music festival last weekend!

watcha think??

Everyones dreads look so awesome, I wish these had been around when I was 16.  Is there like an age limit on wearing them? I'm 36 but look about 27 and would so love to wear make and wear them.  Am I to old? lol  Undecided

Awesome!!! I'm so going to make some now and I probably will for my dd (Cool too, she will love them.  She wears some devil horns I bought her at the Ren Fair last fall so I know she'd wear the dreads.  BTW...you don't look 40.

For those trying to find wool this site has low prices and very fair shipping and they have lots of wool in different sizes and colors.  I have ordered from them and they have speedy delivery.

First project post... be gentle!

Grin After roaming the streets of Whitby and finding similar falls for about 120(!!!) I decided I'd make my own Cheesy

Two 100g hanks of Colinette Point 5 wool, 60cm of elastic and 2 hair clips later I had these Cheesy

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a284/punkgal88/DSC02626.jpg

which give BIG volumey hair when in...

They're also lighter than synthetic dreads so much more wearable for longer periods Cheesy

Any comments welcome  Smiley

Thanks!

I can't find that colour collinette wool on the net. Or anything super bright:0( Wonder if it's been discontinued!

Am so going to try and make some of these this weekend!
