sewing therapy of late;  work has been horrid.  i'm hitting the machine HARD tonight, i tell you!

this one was originally a standard crew-neck tee:

you can't really see it from the photo, but the sleeves are all drape-y and (i think) cute.  i got the idea from the book T-Shirt Makeovers: 20 Transformations for Fabulous Fashions by Sistahs Of Harlem.  it's pretty similar to the elizabeth tute.  (i love this book by the way - even if i wouldn't wear most of the patterns because they're SO halter-happy, it's very inspirational.)

this one was a pillowcase.  simple, i think elegant, and jersey cotton - so i can't WAIT for summer!

thanks for looking!  'yall are my daily inspiration and this stuff is what keeps me sane!  (yeah, had a particularly bad day;  can you tell?)

Who knew that a tiny little black bow could make this dress go from cool to rockin'-hotness!?  That is too cute!

Hang in there Rabbit! Smiley Sewing has been my therapy of late too! It looks like a cyclone hit our kitchen table (I don't have a sewing room), but I dare anyone to touch my stuff.  Those are really cute ideas you made up, simple and elegant and quick! Immediate gratification rocks!!

The Tshirt looks so cool and I love the shoulder fring-y things. Very good job! I love the little pillowcase dress, too. Cute and simple!

aww, thanks everyone!

i actually sat beneath the sorting hat film prop at the WB museum when i worked at the studio, and it sorted me into hufflepuff.  ><  so, i had to embrace my inherent hufflepuff-ness.

NEW BOOK 7/21!!!
