I string pieced the material from scraps, quilted it, then made the clutch.  I love how it turned out!

String Piecing is a good way to use up scraps of fabrics.  Here is a good set of directions: http://quiltville.com/stringquiltingprimer.shtml

I just did mine from side to side instead of on the diagonal and didn't leave a blank space.  Here's another that is waiting for me to do something with it!
