holy geeeze! This sweater! It'll be the death of me!

I'm done the front bits & have attached the shoulders & now I'm working on the neckband. -phew!-

The sleeeeeeeeeves! THE SLEEEEVE! It's not growing! I've been knitting it for forever now & it's still the same length it was 2 weeks ago! Just to my elbow! I swear I knit it every lunch hour!

I do love it though! I just can't wait until it's finished!

Just wanted to show you all a picture of my progress so far.

I really like how it's turning out so far, I know it's going to end up being one of my favorite sweaters.  The only downside: it takes foreeever to make progress on this thing!  It feels like I've been knitting and knitting and that it hasn't even grown.  I know the end will totally justify the means, though.  I did decide to make the size 36 and so far it looks to be about the right size.  Once I make a little more progress I'm going to take it off the needles and try it on.

So.. would it be completely out of place for me to join this knitalong when I'm intending to knit my thermal in DK weight yarn at a gauge 2309824809234 times huger than you guys, and uh, intend to turn the sweater into a vest? Smiley I'm thinking I need company while knitting this, plus I may have some questions bout the placket and neck/armhole shaping cos I've never done anything like this before.

By the way, I superduper admire all of you guys. The patience required to knit this using 2.5 needles would undoubtedly make me want to stab myself in the eye. I'd be smiling like  Wink after that.

Cheesy So I can't join without showing a photo right?

This is what waffle stitch looks like in huuuuuge gauge (DK weight yarn, size 6 needles)

It's yummy and squishy. I started knitting this on sunday and I'm 7 inches in Smiley My plan is to knit furiously til I reach the placket instructions, then try to figure it out from there (not planning very far ahead am I?)
