I finished the ribbing!  Hurray!

So far I like this waffle stitch.  Especially the row of K!

ooohhh! i am so happy that there is a knitalong for this sweater. i loved it and planned on knitting it when it first came out- but then i learned to crochet and got side tracked. i really want to make one- but i want it to be more of a spring/summer cover up. i am really bad at making yarn replacements. i normally just get the yarn a pattern calls for. what if i did it in a cotton yarn, or maybe a silk cotton blend? i loooove silky tweed- but i don't know if they have a finer weight yarn. any suggestions for a yarn sub?

thegarby,

I'm running into that problem too!  I'm usually a 36 and went down to the 34, but I'm 5' 7 1/2".  I finally tried it on, and I'm definately going to need to add some length!

I'm glad you feel the same way. But I do think going down a size really replaces the need for waist shaping. It fits to my curves just right, but you need to compensate for length.

Have you guys been swatching in the waffle pattern or stockinette?  I remember reading somewhere that the pattern author swatched in stockinette.

Here's where I'm at right now.
The waist shaping turned out really well too!

i swatched in waffle, i dont know if that was part of my problem with my first thermal being too large, probably not though, the waffle stitch is just super stretchy.

over and under- your thermal looks great! i'm very jealous, i want to be that far along with mine!

it's actually emerald green and earthy brown, doesn't look so festive in real life!
