it'll cost about the same, and then you have to dye it, so i think when i do decide to make this, i'll just use gloss...
do you think this will be too ambitious fora first sweater? i've made tons of other things, and i have done small gauge stuff, justn ever a sweater.

I want to do this pattern, too and I already ordered  and already received Gloss for KnitPicks in Dusk. Dusk looks like a bluey gray not like a navy blue. Very pretty yarn, I think.  Not only did I order this for Thermal,  knitpicks  andes bulky in navy to knit lion brand everyone's favorite cardi that has a  hoodie , too. Lion Brand used  wool ease chunky , but I thought why not 100% wool. Go check it out!!

i'm not sure about the stripes, it takes away from the stitch pattern. what do you think?

well... its not my favorite color combo, but i think it doesn't detract to much from the pattern, if you love the stripes and the colors then i'm sure it will look good when you're done. I think you will still retain alot of texture, just not as much if you had done solid

I actually like the colours together, but I think they do detract from the stitch pattern a bit, and don't let the yarn do its waffle-y thing. But then again I'm a fan of things being simple, as I find that they tend to be most beautiful that way. But that's just my personal nitpicking.

the colours are off in my photo - it's more like chocolate brown and forest green so more subtle than it appears in the photo. i think i want it in a solid though.. damn, will have to buy more yarn Wink

wow. I havent swatched or anything for thermal. My current project is the fir cone wrap from wendyknits webpage a freebie..my first attempt at lace knitting. about half way done..Now about the thermal, what size needles are you using as not all needle manufactures make a 2.5/3mm. I would have to order if and that is if I cant find locally. I never thought to do strips..a great idea.
