I didn't pre-wash.  I don't think that I'll be washing my bear, though.

Good, then I won't pre-wash mine, either! Wink  My completed bear probably won't be hitting the wash either. And this way, I won't have to iron the fabric after it comes out of the wash all wrinkly! Grin

I made an extra copy of the pattern, and instead of marking things, would it be all right if I sent the pieces with the pattern piece attached? I probably shouldn't send pins through the mail, especially if I mail out of the country, so I'll try to figure out a way to attach them safely and securely. Maybe a binder clip to hold it all together?

Also, with my fabric, I think that the right and wrong side (or up and down, I think) will be pretty evident (it's a printed cotton).

And, a final question, should I wash the fabric before I cut out the pieces? I don't know if folks will be throwing their bears in the wash in the future, so I'm wondering if I should pre-wash in case anything shrinks...
The whole marking thing is really just assurance that you send the right bits to the right people, so if you send them without labeling them I won't be removing points from your final test scores.  (there won't be final test scores, I was just in a flashback to highschool mood)

Sending them with the pattern attached would be a good idea, except there are four ears and they could be sent to four different people so thats a lot of printing.

And prewashing is not required.  (if me saying that comes back to bite someone in the butt later then I am sorry)

Hmmm...I hadn't thought about the individual ear pieces being separated! But I think I'll still be prepared for the possibility. After I tape together the pattern pieces, and cut them out, I think I'll copy off extras of all of the pieces (on a copy machine at work....shhhhh! or if I do it during vacation, then it'll be at the local copy center)- I can fit a bunch of pieces on one page, I think. If I position things well, I won't have to do any more taping- just cutting (no problem). And then I can always write on the pattern pieces if I need to.

I don't expect to get my pieces this way, I just want to make sure I don't goof anybody up! This is just a little bit of my AR personality peeking out! Wink

Alright!
I went through everything and checked stuff against stuff and now all the information should be fine!
(I made like four mistakes, and I know I am prone to mistakes, wich is why I checked everything.)

Let me know if I got anything wrong!

I just checked the list and it says I'm doing two large bears - same.  I thought I signed up for two large bears - different...

I started cutting today, boy do my scissors suck!  I ended up using my rotary cutter(much easier!).  I've got one bear almost done and I'll finish up tomorrow(I was only at it for about an hour or so).  Yay!  I hope everyone posts pictures of their finished bears...

The application I recieved says same (saves on postage), but I just changed it in my wordfile with a little note saying you requested the change.

I think we went through this before
*Note to self*  Should also put the same little note on the front page so I don't go about changing it back next time I double check everything.

FYI - - if you want to use DC
for a flat envelope, just put a small piece
of bubble wrap or a couple of styrofoam peanuts
in it to make it thicker....
This swap sounds cool!  Can't figure out how I missed it - - maybe there will be a bunny one in the spring?

I just sent in my info... what a cool idea  Grin  I'm excited!  I handsew everything, so I'm only doing the smaller bears.

Just one question regarding confirmation numbers though... sometimes at my post office they only give me DC with priority mail shipping if the envelope isn't thick enough.  That could add up to a lot of postage for 4 people per bear.  If we're swap angelling ourselves, can we skip DC numbers for this swap?

If that's a bad idea, I'll just suck it up and pay the postage  Tongue
