Heres my version of "baby oscar" the yarn octopus. I call him baby ollie. I used batting instead of the styrofoam ball, and some left over red heart.

my mom and I used to make these all the time when I was younger! I bought the craftster book specifically for the instructions. Yours is very cute, I love his orange poofy hair!

Ooh, I had one of these when I was a kid, and I'd completely forgotten about it!  Mine was olive green, and had plastic googly eyes.  I'll bet it's still around somewhere at my parents' house.

I realize this is a pretty old thread, but I just had to thank you for the memories.  I remember making a ton of these and giving them to anyone who would take one when I was a young pre-teen.  I felt so incredibly crafty!  What a fun memory, thanks!
