Last night I had a bout of inspiration that included applying my current collage fetish to a calender, which I needed. so I found one of those wall calenders that companies give you (with an ad for each month) and started working on covering the horrible ads with something related to that month. I have February and March done (I decided, screw January, lol). Feb. is an anti-love theme (Valentine's) and March is booze, drugs and rock n roll ( St. Paddy's). I want to make at least a few of the months something relating to song lyrics. for example, for November I'm using a Bright Eyes song with the verse:
"Time take us forward.
Relief from this longing.
They can land that plane on my heart;
I dont care.
Just give me November,
The warmth of a whisper,
In the freezing darkness of my room."
I was just going to cut out each word and accompany it with pictures that fit the song.
SO, to get to the point, can you clever craftsters help me come up with more song ideas or just plain ideas for my calender? I'd prefer alt./classic rock/other rock-type music, but anything goes. =]

Try googling searches like "songs about summer" or "songs mentioning January" etc. etc. That's where I would start.

Let's see here...if you're a fan of AFI there's A Winter's Tale that mentions December, Now the World which mentions summer, and the songs Summer Shudden and Love Like Winter.

Maybe We Don't Need No Education for September.
It's Been a Summer by New Found Glory
Drama Summer by The Starting Line

And that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Google Goldfinger's "January."  It mentions a few of the months.

I like your idea!
I can't but help mentioning my favorite band's song Wink Here are the lyrics, and you can listen to it at the site below:

On Saturday

I'm gonna quit cause it's getting old
And it'll save my life or so I've been told

You see I got this thing that I like to do
But it seems to get between me and you
You won't understand if you gotta ask why
But if it's what you want I guess I'll try

We're breaking up, you're moving out, on Saturday
I'm losing friends, I'm losing face, I'm losing weight
So get your things out of my place on Saturday
On Saturday, on Saturday, on Saturday

I can't find my key I know where it went
Straight out the door with half the rent
But I got this song that I like to sing
You can keep the key I'll keep the ring

We're breaking up, you're moving out, on Saturday
I'm losing friends, I'm losing face, I'm losing weight
So get your things out of my place on Saturday
On Saturday, on Saturday, on Saturday
And she said it's not you I just need my space
I said it is me just say it to my face

All in time it will be fine
Just me, myself and I

We're breaking up, you're moving out, on Saturday
I'm losing friends, I'm losing face, I'm losing weight
So get your things out of my place on Saturday
On Saturday, on Saturday, on Saturday
And she it is you and I found somebody new
She said thats not the color I wanted I said blue

Another Happy Ending

"If I had a magic charm
It would protect you from all harm
There'd be no sirens to alarm
We could stay here every day
And if I were a super hero
Good guys all the villains zero
I'd save you from all that is evil
So you can sleep at night"

Hmm... The Ataris mention month names in some of their songs.  Like Takeoff and Landings:
"On this coldest of January nights
We drive out past the runway and watch the planes go flying by
The runway lights are the deepest blue like the colors of your eyes
So close them tight and kiss me one last time"

and Looking Back on Today
"1st of novemeber 1998
I was thinking of what to say when i would call
Denice come over to my house cause you're the one for me
we'll drink cheap wine and watch for shooting stars"

Hope that helps.
