Hi there! Have you thought about joining the Detroit Craft Mafia or Handmade Detroit?

Hey Lish, how exactly does one join the Detroit Craft Mafia?

I craft like crazy (mostly sewing/crocheting) and I've been interested in this for awhile, I just kind of thought it was invite-only.

There are  SnB groups that meet all around Michigan. But they are mostly needle crafts (I think). Maybe you should loin there because I'm sure it would get some girls (and guys maybe) into this. I'm definitly be with this.... a craft one would be Great. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/detroitareaknitters/ Here's where you can find them. There is alos a calander so that the date can be planned out not to conflict.

According to their site, Handmade Detroit is withdrawing from the "Craft Mafia" and becoming Loop Detroit. I hope this is a good thing because so far the HD events that I've seen listed have all been geared at selling things or making things to sell, and I don't sell! I just want to get together with other fun folks and make stuff!

I think the Craft Mafie were the ones that changed their names, here's a link to their MySpace:

and the new blog:

I have been trying to get up the nerve to go the one of their Making Days but I'm too self-conscious to go alone.  Undecided
