I really like "home james."  There's something sinister about that woman!

Thanks, many people do not know this but the Gibson Girl was modeled after actual women of the day. There is a cool article from wikipedia- here's the link

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gibson_girl

One of the Gibson Girl illustrators actually went on to become a Wonder Woman illustrator!! Two icons in one life- lucky man!

Tomorrow is going to be a crazy day in the morning so I'm posting a little early for Day 2-

Girl 2- A little more depth and texture this time!

TRADED
There is a story that Charles Gibson had a crush on ALice Roosevelt and this is the portrait he did supposedly based on her! Perv was a married man- but I don't think that bothered crazy Alice!

Third in the series- The Gibson Girls

The Gibson Girls were meant to epitomize the elegance and breeding of the perfect upper class woman of the late 19th/ early 20th century woman. She was beautiful , yet haughty. I always thought these women always looked trapped! Maybe that's why I find them so interesting.
Note: All my cards are on basic white CS which I hand colored using a layer of "Blush" ink, which is "pounced" on with a sponge applicator, a layer of "desert Sand" to antique a bit, and then overstamped w/ a leaf pattern in "vineyard Berry" to give the appearance of vintage wallpaper of the Victorian age. The next cardss in the set will be in a different color B/G
