I was finally able to try this tute out from Kaka and wow was it ever an easy bag to make and so cute to finish!!
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=88223.0

My 4 yr old is modeling in the first picture.   Grin  I can't wait to make another one.  I used a canvas type material with stripes in fall/winter shades and used cotton tan/white check fabric for the lining.  There's a pocket inside that's the same material as the outside.  I also embellished it with these cute little flower appliques I got from Walmart last year in their clearance section...all I had to do was iron them on.  I attached the handles using some D-rings but the straps were a bit wider than I needed so they are a tad bit bulky.  I love how it turned out and can't wait to do another one.  Let me know what you think.  Smiley

The only thing I got confused on was where to leave the hole to pull the fabric through.  LOL  That part always snags me.  It is very easy though.

You know, even though I used a heavy duty canvas material on the outside, it tends to flop out on the top.  Does anyone else's do that?  I've thought of adding maybe a small snap in the middle or on the next one trying to add a magnetic closure (if it will fit) at the top to hold it together.  And as others have said, I'm also going to try a bigger one...mine is stuffed full right now.  LOL  So any thoughts on the top?  I'm constantly pushing the two pieces inward when I'm showing it off.  Smiley
