Here is my little man Bailey's first sweater...we think it makes him look very collegiate.

I knitted it from the Feral Faire Isle pattern in Knitting for Dogs by Kristi Porter, but I substituted a chunky Tweed yarn so it would go faster, and altered the pattern for gauge.  He seems to be indifferent to it, and I want him to get used to it before I knit the cuffs on the arms, since I've heard some dogs don't like that much.

Bailey looks marvelous! And he must have a marvelous mom to deck him out so nicely! I really like the colors you chose!

That is absolutely adorable!

And one suggestion for the arms - you may just want to leave them off. We have a sweater for our beagle and she has a lot of trouble jumping into the car or onto the couch with it on because the arms hinder her little legs.  Undecided  I've read somewhere that they lose most of their heat through their torso, so the covered back and belly is the most important thing.

Kudos on a lovely furrbaby project!

Thanks a lot, everbody!  That's good to know about your beagle's sweater sleeves - he is very active.  Maybe I'll just leave him with a nice vest - he almost needs a little collared shirt under there, he could be a professor of sniffology.
