Good googly...I am so creeped out by these stories. Glad you're ok, and also glad you shared this with us. I think we should all just wear goggles werever we go.  Cool

I once got hot/raw soap (in other words, active LYE) in my eye. I was pushing my glasses up and my gloved thumb poked my eye and there was soap on it. I went to the ER..all is fine but there is a white glob on the side of my eye. I have no idea if it's from that incident or the 8 million times I have got hot grease in the eye from cooking bacon. Am I the only one this happens to? Same thing with grapefruit - every.stinkin.time. I eat a grapefruit I get squirted in the eye with juice. Neither the juice or the hot grease is nearly as bad as active lye though...man that hurt.

With my track record for grease and grapefruit juice, I think I'm going to opt for goggles while sewing. As odd s that will look Grin...I just don't have luck on my side.
