Oh man! I wish I could quilt!  That's absolutely adorable, and it matches that leaf so well, it's from Ikea right?  Are you painting the walls too?

Yep, it's a leaf canopy from Ikea.  It was actually the inspiration for the quilt!

How many hours did you put in for that?

I did it over the course of a month. When I get into something, I'm addicted to working on it until it's done.  I would work on it every Monday night (at our quilting group), and over the course of two full-day sewing get-togethers.  I also worked on it during the week when I had a few spare hours.

Thanks for the comments.  This project is what really got me addicted to quilting.  It's so fun!

Wow! This is beautiful! And, in spite of all of the colors, it doesn't look "busy." It is so well laid out! And the leaf canopy complements it beautifully! I would love to have one like it in my room...but I'm too lazy to tackle a project like that! Great job!

I think it looks great!  I also tackled a full sized quilt for my first project.  I'm still working on it, but you inspire me!!

Wonderful fabric choices and colors!  I love the big leaf on the wall with it as well.

Flying geese are a pretty ambitious choice for a first quilt!  Bravo!!

Lucky daughter, and cute son, but aren't you the blessed one to have such a great relationship with your m-in-law that she wanted to coach you through such an ambitious project!!! Lucky her, too!

It's so great to have inter-generational knowledge swaps!
