Hey there everybody!  I saw this capelet in the Holiday 2006 VK (project number 4) and decided it was pretty.  And I needed to make it.  Even though I have no idea where I'll wear it.  But that usually doesn't stop me Wink.

I used about 8 balls of Andean Silk in Slate from knitpicks.com (I bought 9)  The pattern calls for size 9 needles, but I thought this produced too holey of a fabric, so I used size 8.  Well...the capelet is a little tight, so ladies, if you think you want to make the one stick with the 9s!

As for difficulty, this isn't a beginner project (its difficulty level according to vogue is experienced), but if you're someone who's starting to get bored with what you're doing, give it a whirl!  A bit of lace, a bit of cables...it was nice to switch shifts during the same project!

And without further delay, here she is:

In her entirety, on the floor:

And an action shot...

WOW! I didn't even notice that in the VK issue I have, but i will definitely be grabbing the mag off my shelf and burrowing through the stash to find appropriate yarn.

Looks AMAZING!

It is really difficult for me to visualize the "on the floor" image actually being worn -- but it looks absolutely fabulous on you, and like something that will definitely help keep the edge off on a chilly day.  Beautiful work!
