Knitting needles on airplanes?

Can u bring needles Sydney-Hawaii? Im going and I was still wondering if the plastic bag take nothing thing is still around. I know u cant take them into Aus but out?
Also bcos ppl take needles around the US , can't u take them in?

I took needles from Milwaukee to Hawaii, and they were metal. I had zero issues or problems!

I'm glad I came across this thread.  We will be heading back to Germany in a little over a month, and I had just planned on taking my stuff.  Duh.  Now hopefully I can be a bit more prepared.  I wonder if I could take a baby nail clippers to cut?? They work just as well.

Ya, it sucks. I flew the morning (at 6:00 mind you) the rules changed.

Check with your local airport and their TSA staff. You may be able to bring on very small amounts of liquids in a see through zip lock baggie.  Make sure to tell them you are going to London, their rules are stricter than ours so they might still have the no lip balm rule.

I think we're lightening the rules in the UK in November to allow liquids and pastes. I managed to get a glue stick from the UK to Egypt and back last week with an inspection, but no problems! I'd forgotten it was in my bag till they asked me about it!

I just saw a reference to lip 'gel' being okay (under 3 ounces).  Maybe it's okay then...?

I wonder that myself.  People are mentioning that they brought small scissors, but when we were coming from Germany to the US last year, they crawled all over my arse about an INFANT nail clippers I had forgotten to take out of the diaper bag.  Weird.  What am I going to do?  Clip someone's pinkie nail off in a fury?
