quess what i made..

..and quess how nice I was? I was nice enough to make a tutorial. The tutorial is in both english and finish, so it'll be a great way to learn the language  Cheesy

if you want to see the tutorial with some pics, it can be found here

The Cherry Hat
Lanka/Yarn: Satu
Koukku/Hook: 4,5mm
+
Neula/Needle

1. Ensin tarvitset pohjan jolle kirsikka tehdään. Tässä tapauksessa se on virkattu hattu. Voisi kyllä ihan yhtä hyvin olla neulottukin.
****************
1. First you need a base to make the cherry in. In this case it's a crocheted hat. It can as easily be something knitted
***********

2. Virkkaa 2 punaista kirsikkaa:
a)Tee lankalenkki aloitus.
b)Virkkaa lenkkiin 6 kiinteää silmukkaa.
c)Virkkaa jokainseen ks:ään 2 ks (=12ks)
d)Katkaise lanka, muista jättää tarpeeksi pitkä "häntä"
e)Tee toinen samalla tavalla
*******************
2. Crochet 2 red cherrys:
a)Make a yarn loop
b)6sc:s to the loop
c)2sc:s in each of the sc:s (=12sc:s)
d)Break yarn. Remember to leave long enough tail
e)Make the other one the same way as the first one
**********************
3. Virkkaa lehti:
a) 2 ketjusilmukkaa, käänny
b)2ks koukusta katsottuna toiseen kjs:aan, käänny
c)1kjs, 2ks molempiin ks:in (=4ks), käänny
d)1kjs, 2ks, 2ks samaan ks:aan, 1ks (=5ks), käänny
e)&f)1kjs, 5ks, käänny
g)1kjs, 1ks, 1ks kahteen ks:aan x2 (=3ks), käänny
h)1kjs, 3ks, käänny
i)1kjs, 1ks, 1ks kahteen ks:aan(=2ks), käänny
j)1kjs, 1kjs kahteen ks:aan (=1ks)
k)Katkaise lanka, jätä pitkä tarpeeksi pitkä häntä
*************
3. Now crochet the leaf:
a) ch 2, turn
b) 2sc:s in the 2nd chain from the hook, turn
c)Ch 1, 2sc:s on one x2 (=4sc), turn
d)Ch 1, 2sc, 2sc:s in one sc, 1sc (=5sc), turn
e)&f)Ch 1, 5sc, turn
g)Ch1, 1sc, 1sc in two sc:s (1 dec) x2 (=3sc), turn
h)Ch1, 3sc, turn
i)Ch1, 1sc, 1sc in two (=2sc), turn
k)Break yarn, remember to leave long enough tail.
**************************************
 4. Fiksusti jättämilläsi "hännillä" ompele kirsikat ja lehti alustaan kiinni haluamallasi tavalla
*********
4. With the yarn tail you so cleverly left sew the cherrys anf the leaf on your base
*****

5. Rentoudu ja hengitä. Olet jo melkein valmis. Ota vaikka kuppi kaakaota, teetä tai kahvia.
*****************
5. Relax and breathe. You're almost done. Have a cup of cocoa, tea or coffee if you like.
*******************

6. Nyt se "vaikea" osuus: Pidä lanka työn väärällä puolella. Piilosilmukoin yhdistä kirsikat ja lehti toisiinsa.
**************
6. Now the "difficult" part. Keep the yarn on the wrong side of your work. With slip stiches unite your cherrys with their leaf

*************
7. Päättele langat
*********
7. Weave in ends

Enjoy! And tell me what you think  Smiley
..and show off your work

Theres also a cherry tutorial on the "comprehensive crochet tutorial" thread. If you want to add your tutorial to your post here, I can add it to the list, as well! Grin

Love the hat.. so cute. You almost look like you're hiding from the camera, too, with the way your eye is just barely peeking into the shot Cheesy

I made this baby hat for my girlfriend's baby shower coming up!  She's having a "cherry" baby, so I thought that these cherries were PERFECT!
As modeled by my Cabbage Patch with my son giggling Smiley
