I tried making skinny jeans, and they're so skinny I couldn't get my foot through, and the stiching on the back is U-G-L-Y.
Then, I used a really nice pair of pants, trying to make them skinny, and now they have this big floppy lump at the side.
UGH!

This is why I don't sew clothes... All that work and it doesn't fit.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience...Some people are so good at making clothes!

I know...i'd be better if I didn't get kicked out of sewing class.
That was 2 months ago when I got kicked out, and only yesterday I started liking sewing again.

Could you put them on inside-out and put pins along that big floppy lump so when you take them off you could take them in there to make the lump go away and make them fit?

Remember though, inside out means the left leg is on the right leg, so if your legs are different, you need to make adjustments for that.  Did that make sense?   Huh

I have a friend who is a professional alterationist and it's not easy to do.  I sew a LOT and still let her do alterations for me except for hems.

I think that if you can at least get your bum in them, you should just bite the bullet and turn them into daisy dukes. That would be super cute and I know a total waste of $$$ however it is better than being upset over jeans. And I am sure they will look great! good luck.

You could always turn them into bell bottoms instead. Just cut up the side and put in a peice of triangle fabric. And it's really hard to mess it up. And since you tried to turn it into tight jeans, you can put triangles in both sides to make it look nicer less lopsided.

That why I would be way too afraid to expiriment with the clothes I actually use. Maybe you can find some at the thrift store to practice on?
