I love the bats - that's cool!

I'm a dork and didn't get a picture of the yarn (and there's not enough left to make a nice picture now) but I made this a few days ago  Grin

The weft is handspun merino.. the warp is araucania nature wool that just happened to match perfectly  Cheesy  Woven on my knitter's loom.

Gorgeous! I love the bats and I also love that woven piece! I'll post some pictures later - mainly handspun knit up items...

Yay, my first fiber friday!! I've been waiting for this day.  Wink

Here is the first yarn I spun on my new Fricke wheel--it's corriedale pencil roving from Crown Mountain farms, the color is called Pueblo.

I simply love it.

Love what I've seen so far! Here are mine from this week:

"Tropical Punch" (coopworth wool), "Clown School" (nylon), "Baby Pool" (nylon)
I discovered Kool-aid dyeing this week. I'll leave it at that.

Hi, I'm a newbie here.  I've lurked off and on for a while but just finally signed up recently.  Seeing all of your beautiful items finally motivated me to take a picture of some of the things I've done.

I'm not just a newbie here, I'm also pretty new to spinning, so it's nothing incredible, just some of my first few skeins.

I don't have a picture of my very first skein, but these are some of the first ones I did on my drop spindle.  The two blue skeins are from a sort of pencil roving I found at my LYS.  The middle skein was dyed with Lime Kool-Aid after I spun it.

These next two are some of the first skeins I did on my wheel.  I had a nicer skein similar to the one on the left, but I gave it to my MiL for Xmas.  This one I did at her house while showing her how to use my wheel and with my husband and BiL 'helping' so forgive the mess.

This last batch I honestly don't remember if I did on the wheel or the drop spindle.  It was probably the drop spindle, but I'm not sure.  It was one of my first great dying experiments.  It's hard to tell but it's actually varigated with just about every color of red Kool-Aid or Flavor-Aid.  I had alot of fun making that, and now I'm knitting it into some cabled handwarmers for my freezing cold office.

I'm back in effect for Fiber Friday.  I've missed you guys!  Yesterday I spent some good spinning time at ole Lucie.

Started out as 4 ozs Multi colored corredale from Carolina Homespun.  A good friend of mine bought it although she has no intention of learning how to spin.  She demanded I spin it thin, and get it back to her ASAP.  The nerve right?

About 250 yds, double ply, 19 wpi give or take.  I would label this as fingering.

All the yarns looks awesome, thus far.  I'm loving the boucle.  And, ooh weaving.  I need another hobby like I need a hole in my head, but that is reallllllly so impressive.

Keep em coming!
