use knox gelatin with half the amount of water it says to use on the box. that should hold it. my husband uses that mixture on his mohawk and he has extremely curly hair and when he put the gelatin on and blow dries it straight up, it stays that was for days until he decided to wash it out. it works better than anything else he's tried.

i knew someone that used mop n glo.  but i don't even think they sell the solid stuff anymore.

ive heard elmer's glue (though it seems like that would take a while to dry) and eggwhites (that just seems like it would be kinda gross).

I can't find anywhere that sells knox gelatin in this town. Thats the problem. And elmers glue, It ruins your hair. And I've never heard of people using Mop n' glow. Thats different. But, Thanks for your help anyways guys.

regardless of how many homemade remedies i try, got2b spiking glue is the best stuff ever for sky-high spikes, hands down.  put it on slightly damp hair, spike it, and reinforce the tips with a bit more glue.  and it really _does not_ come out until you wash with shampoo. smells nice too.

my hairdresser (an ex-punk and loverly gal)

reccomended i use pritt-stick (school type glue in england),soap (rub a bar of soap on ur hands when it is slightly wet and use that) or sugar and water.

my mum and dad used to use sugar and water (also ex-punks)(yeah my family rocks). i have tried prit stick and soap but am still waiting to try sugar water.i dont do liberty spikes but i backcomb(tease to you yanks!)and mess it up.

if you want shop bought then lush(awesome soap shop) does goth juice which smells good too.but king of the mods my be better for liberty spikes.best thing about lush stuff is that it is good 4 ur hair(conditioning, protecting etc)

hope this helps!
